Kanye West says "Good Morning!"

On this early, very early Wednesday morning. I am very happy that this blog is up and running now. And as my protege' Jesse Travis stated below, get your seat belts fastened and trays in a locked position get ready for the most intense Kentucky sports blog you have ever read. And we here at Cats Claw, love the word "intense" as you will come to know, and love. Ok onward now.
Early, early every morning I Brant Bond will be giving you some notes and tidbits from the wonderful world of Kentucky sports. So why don't we go ahead and get into it hot and heavy on this Wednesday morning.

Scotty Hopson: Ok it appears that there is a mystery coming from the UK camp with the recruitment of Hopson. Which if you havent noticed by now. This staff is very secretive and elusive with their recruiting. It appears that the team to beat with Hopson is the Tennessee Volunteers. Scotty loves Coach Pearl and the style that UT plays. I believe that this is where Scotty is headed. However, I strongly feel that UK could make a surging attack from behind and come in here at the end and scoop Scotty up. Dont be suprised to see Hopson in the Blue and White next year. We will get a good indication as to where UK is with their status with Hopson this week as his, University Heights Blazers, are playing in a tournament in Richmond Kentucky. If Gillispie isn't present, this would probably indicate that the Wildcats aren't pursuing Mr. Hopson. While the Cats could use someone with Scotty's scoring ability next year, I'm not so sure that he could play defense at the kind of intensity level that Gillispie would ask of him. From what I saw at the King of the Bluegrass tournament, he appears to be a bit lazy, especially off the ball and at the defensive end. But you can definitely tell that he can turn it up when he has too. All in all I hope we can land Scotty Hopson.

Willie Bohannan: With the announcement that the Head Coach in waiting will be Joker Phillips, it is clear that there is nothing but positives coming out of Lexington with Kentucky football. However the Cats received a recruiting blow today as Willie Bohannan, the 6-3', 230 pound Defensive end out of Mobile Alabama, decided to bypass the Cats and committed to the Tennessee Volunteers. Bohannan gave a verbal commitment to UK but backed out and is now headed to play for the Vols. Not the best news, but the Wildcats have young talents on defense. UK is going for three bowl wins in 3 years. Our boys will get it done.

Joe Crawford:Lets talk some Kentucky Basketball on here. They sure are playing great aren't they? I am so proud of this team. And I have to say that this is one of my favorite Kentucky teams that I have seen in my 18 years of living. Having said that, this Wildcat team needs Joe Crawford back. It looks good, I think that we will be seeing Joe on the court sooner rather than later. However I'm not so sure that we will see Joe on the court this weekend against Georgia. This week Joe hasn't been able to practice with the team, (not again!!!!) So they will let Joe sit until he returns to full health so we wont have to endure the "on again/off again" injuries that have plagued Derrick Jasper and Jodie Meeks throughout the season, which I think all UK fans can agree, was very frustrating. So I think we will definitely see Joe on the court at the Auburn game.

So folks, thats all I have this morning. More later.

GO CATS!!!
