3/5/2008, Joe Crawford drops 35, and the Wildcats ruin SC's senior day as well as Dave Odom's last home game in Columbia. Another blown 16 point lead and more heart attacks in the State of Kentucky as the Gamecocks made a pretty good run and cut the game to 6. But the Wildcats again pull it out. A good road win, but more importantly it shows the selection committee that not only can the Wildcats compete without P Pat but they can also win without P Pat.

March 2nd the Cats went to Knoxville and gave the then number 1 volunteers all they could handle. Kentucky out played the number 1 team in the nation in their building but just came up a little bit short. One Joe and "Razor" Ramon 3 pointer away from winning the game. Speaking of the guy in the photo above, The Razor has been playing great and living up to his nickname by being explosive on offense cutting to the basket like a Razor cutting through cardboard. Kentucky played their most courageous game of the season and it was a "good" loss. This game also showed the selection committee that we can compete at a high level on the road against high caliber teams. Great effort from the Cats.
Next Kentucky plays host to the Florida Gators, a team that I want to beat more than anything. It is also senior day for Ramel and Joe, it will be a very emotional atmosphere. What Ramel and Joe have done for the program this year will be remembered for ever, they have played their hearts out. I for one know that Sunday will be an emotional affair for me. Win Sunday and we go to the "Big Dance."
