Scotty Hopson and Big Macs.

If UK fans want to have a McDonalds All American on the team next year then it will have to be University Heights standout and UK target Scotty Hopson. Hopson was the only UK recruiting target to be selected for the McDonalds All American game. However I'm still not so sure that Billy G is going after Scotty.

Gillispie did say that a big time scoring Wing Player was needed for the Spring. But rumors have started that the wing player BCG was reffering to wasn't Hopson, but was Bud Mackey. The young man who was expelled from Scott County High School, for the distribution of Drugs on school grounds. Originally commited to IU, but Coach Sampson removed himself from the young man(we all know Sampson has good judgment.) And now Mackey's recruitment is open. On Mackeys myspace page, where all the true news is revealed, "Kentucky Wildcats Here I come," is written. So who knows.

But what I do know is this, if the Cats can land big man Ater Majok, and Scotty Hopson then well, you will be seeing a top 5 recruiting class for the Kentucky Wildcats.

Cats' leave Bulldogs' in their dust

This Tuesday the Kentucky Wildcats’ welcomed the Georgia Bulldogs into Rupp and soon anticipation grew wild in the arena. Kentucky was on a row with five straight wins, but then everything dropped when they played Vanderbilt on Feb. 12th, a disappointing loss of 93-52. Everything seemed like it was turning back around and it would soon be a repeat of the beginning of the season, but one senior had his mind on a win.

Joe Crawford, a senior guard, wasn’t going to allow Tuesdays game to slide through his fingers.
In the beginning of the first half, Crawford was at it. A couple of minutes after the game had begun, Crawford fired a three-pointed like it was no problem.

You think that was the end? Well, it was only the beginning.
Soon after the first three-pointer, Crawford began shooting three’s close to every minute during the beginning of the first half. Not to mention Ramel Bradley’s assist and Patterson’s help with field goals, Kentucky was in the lead.
The Cats’ left the Bulldogs’ head coach Dennis Felton a nervous wreck, soon having to call a time out following all Crawford’s amazing, and risky three pointers.

Quickly after the time out the Bulldogs’ were ready to fight back against the Cats’. It was no easy game after, with the Bulldogs’ soon catching up. The Cats’ and the Dogs’ were neck and neck with one another, and in the second half things were becoming more and more risky.

With the Cats’ still in the lead, Kentucky's defense was doing a remarkably good job blocking shots from the Bulldogs’, but it didn’t last for long when the Bulldogs’ began to catch up.

The anticipation was still growing, but near the end of the second half the Cats’ were still at it, having 4 free-throws, and still... not allowing the Bulldogs’ to take the lead. Soon after, everyone could breathe again. The Cats’ left the arena with a 6 point lead of 61-55, which leaves Kentucky with a record of 14-10 and 8-3 SEC.
The Cats’ still have their hearts set on the NCAA Tournament bid, so lets all hope for the 15-10 win with Arkansas on Feb.23. Will the Cats’ still have it in ‘em?

Sorry about the non-post game "post" from the Georgia game. I was so excited about being behind the bench that I found my self rewinding the DVR tape of the game and pausing it when the camera fell on me and my Father. Any who, Saturday, One of the biggest games of the year. Well every game now, are one of the biggest games of the year. The Cats play host to Arkansas, Its gonna be tough folks, because Arkansas is a tough team. And their coach is one of our own, John Pelphrey member of the Unforgettable s.

How will John fair coaching his Razorbacks in his collegiate playing Sanctuary of Rupp Arena. Everyone one keeps saying that, "we need a blow out victory, we need a blow out victory," but folks I'm not so sure that this team is capable of a blowout. As long as they win that is good enough for me. Big Game Saturday.
